Our client is hiring a Institutional Banking and Payment Consultant to lead and grow consulting engagements across the ANZ BFSI portfolio, with a focus on Payments and Institutional Banking domains. In this dual roleas the Client Engagement Partner (CEP) and Consulting Lead you will play a pivotal part in defining transformation roadmaps, leading delivery, and advising C-suite stakeholders for strategic banking clients. This is a high-impact role requiring deep subject matter expertise, strong consulting capability, and a track record of managing complex digital and regulatory transformations in financial services. You will work at the intersection of business strategy, digital technology, and regulatory change, shaping future-ready solutions for top institutional banks and payments providers. Key Responsibilities: Lead the consulting business for Payments and Institutional Banking client accounts across Australia and New Zealand. Define and drive a consulting-led growth agenda aligned with strategic priorities of key banking clients. Shape and deliver engagements across digital, regulatory, and platform transformation programs. Partner with business and technology leaders to build strategic roadmaps across Institutional Lending, Payments, and Banking modernisation. Own key stakeholder relationships, acting as a trusted advisor to CxO-level decision-makers. Contribute to global and local capability development in Payments and Institutional Banking consulting. Develop thought leadership, frameworks, and accelerators to support zero-touch operations, AI/ML adoption, and compliance innovation. Collaborate cross-functionally to win new business and ensure successful execution of transformation initiatives. Mentor and lead project teams and contribute to talent development in the BFSI consulting practice. Focus Areas: Domain Areas: Institutional Lending (syndicated loans, structured finance, asset-based lending) Institutional Banking Platform Modernisation Real-time and Legacy Payments Infrastructure Digital and Neo Banking Solutions Regulatory Compliance and Risk Transformation Cybersecurity and Fraud Management API Strategy, Artificial Intelligence, and Machine Learning in BFSI Consulting Capabilities: CxO Advisory and Transformation Strategy M&A and Post-merger Integration Consulting Target Operating Model and Vendor Consolidation Digital Experience and Design Thinking Agile Transformation and New Ways of Working Key Requirements: 12+ years of consulting experience, with at least 5 years focused on BFSIparticularly Payments and/or Institutional Banking. Proven experience in top-tier consulting firms or in-house transformation roles at leading banks or fintechs. Strong understanding of institutional banking processes, payment flows, digital platforms, and regulatory frameworks. Demonstrated ability to lead complex client engagements and consultative sales cycles. Exceptional client-facing skills, with the ability to engage at the executive level. Deep knowledge of emerging trends in banking technology, including AI, ML, and open banking. Strategic thinking with strong problem-solving, communication, and team leadership capabilities. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor''s degree in Business, Finance, Technology, or related fields; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred. Experience working with Australian banks or regulatory bodies (e.g., APRA, AUSTRAC) is a strong advantage. Familiarity with core banking systems, real-time payments platforms, or enterprise fintech solutions.
