Full-time continuing position, contingent on the continuation of external fundingLocated on the Camperdown Campus at the University Veterinary Teaching Hospital Sydney (UVTHS)Exciting opportunity to provide best practice veterinary care and student teaching as part of the Small Animal Surgery team, within a multi-discipline specialty hospitalBase Salary HEO3 (38 hpw), $79,219 - $87,969 p.a. + 17% superannuation + appropriate shift loadings About the opportunityThe University of Sydney is welcoming applications for a qualified Veterinary Nurse for our Surgery service. Supporting the University Veterinary Teaching Hospital in providing support for clinical teaching and professional nursing assistance with clinical cases.Your key responsibilities will beto:assist clinicians and veterinary interns with treatments, prepare and assist with clinical proceduresprovide support for clinical teaching and professional nursing assistance with clinical casesclean and maintain clinical spacescare for and maintain instruments and equipmentsupport student learning, through positive engagement with students in trainingprovide overall high level of nursing care for animals in their respective serviceundertake ad-hoc projects and other activities as requiredmaintain stock including ordering of consumables and procurement of supplies, and control of stock quantities.The small animal service at the University Veterinary Teaching Hospital Camperdown (UVTHS) operates in:a small animal specialist veterinary practicea wide range of all medical,surgical and emergent problemssecond opinion casesaccess to advanced equipment and imaging.As well as providing gold standard patient care, UVTHS provides an invaluable teaching experience for our final year veterinary students.
