About the role: The Head of Workforce plays a key role within ACCPA, responsible for leading, developing, and implementing ACCPAs workforce strategy. Working across both the Policy & Advocacy team and Services & Sector Capacity teams, the Head of Workforce will proactively engage internal and external stakeholders on a range of workforce issues affecting the aged care sector, support practical initiatives, analyse government policy, and develop positions related to workforce based on the needs of the aged care sector and the people they serve. The role will also work with the CEO, Media & Public relations, and the Membership and Marketing & Communications teams to support external and internal communications regarding issues related to workforce. Reporting to the General Manager Policy & Advocacy, this position will: Develop and coordinate the implementation of ACCPAs workforce strategy, spanning the breath of workforce issues across residential care, home and community care, and retirement living and seniors housing. Create and drive cross-organisational processes that support the translation of workforce policy to current and future workforce services, supports and programs. Support internal and external opportunities to progress results for members affected by workforce issues in aged care across both Policy & Advocacy and Services & Sector Capacity teams. Prepare high-quality written advice in the form of reports, briefs, policy, proposals, discussion papers or submissions incorporating member input. To be successful you will have: Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or experience in public policy in government, health or aged care related organisations, membership organisations, or significant operational experience in aged care. An understanding of health and/or workforcepolicy and current issues impacting the aged care industry or significant transferable public policy experience. An appreciation of the political system and related policy processes. Confident communication style and demonstrated experience in stakeholder consultationand achieving influence through building internal and external networks. The ability to draft and communicate key messages and interpret legislation requirements (at a high level). High quality research, analytical and writing skills with demonstrated ability to compose concise policy briefings, proposals and submissions. Demonstrated project management capability including exercising sound judgement in the prioritisation of potential opportunities for ACCPA in the interest of members.
