The purpose of this position is to deliver a superior claims service, determining proper policy coverage to conclude, investigate, evaluate and negotiate assigned cases.In this role, you will: Obtain details required to lodge and assess the validity of claims and identify the parties responsible for accidents, damage, loss and pursue recoveries as required. Interpret complex policy coverage, and determine if coverage applies to claims submitted, escalating issues as needed. Identify suspicious or potentially fraudulent claims, and address by following the companys fraud policy and process. Allocate external assessments and interpret reporting to make claim decisions where required. Manage the fulfilment of a claim by co-ordinating satisfactory completion of repairs. Set reserves and raise payments within scope of authority, settling claims in the most cost effective manner, and ensure timely issuance of disbursements - while understanding how GST and ITC impact those payments. Support the integration of a clear, data-driven operational management approach (Enlighten). Provide information and feedback on claims activity and developing trends to the Team Leader to enable appropriate actions to be carried out and prepare reports and recommend actions to reduce risks. Address a range of matters raised by customers to support the provision of a high standard of customer service, including investigating, responding to, and escalating any client issues accordingly. Be proficient in the company complaints handling process and manage complex complaints.A bit about youTo be successful in this role, you will possess: 2+ years experience in managing end-to-end general insurance claims either Motor, Home or Landlord. Satisfactory completion of the ANZIIF General Insurance Code of Practice. Proficient literacy, numeracy, written and oral communication skills. Intermediate computer skills. Possesses skills for independent and qualitative task completion with satisfactory time management and organisational skills, and attention to detail. Works effectively in a team environment. Able to adhere to business process, key performance indicators and timelines in a data-driven operational environment (Enlighten). A strong focus on exceptional customer service with a genuine desire to help people.
