Job Title Principal Consultant Marine Science Vacancy No VN2933 Employment Type Permanent Contract Type Full-Time Advert Job Description The SLR Marine Science team is looking for motivated, articulate, and reliable people with experience in consulting, government, or industry to join our team. Our range of secured projects associated with offshore wind, port development, oil and gas, pumped hydro, and more requires dedicated professionals to: Develop and complete clear and precise, high-quality reports that are prepared in accordance with relevant legislation, standards and guidelines Design and implement a range of field survey activities including benthic habitat mapping, seagrass monitoring, fish assemblage assessments, water quality monitoring to meet client needs Creatively develop solutions for complex challenges Develop relationships with a range of clients and internal stakeholders Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to achieve exceptional outcomes. Potential team members for the positions that we are currently looking for will ideally have: A degree in marine or environmental science, environmental engineering or a related field Minimum of 3 years'' experience undertaking a range of marine science related activities Demonstrated experience managing projects and clients Experience in preparing impact assessments and environmental risk assessments Working knowledge of Australian environmental legislation and policies, standards and guidelines (at Commonwealth and in at least one state) Excellent written and verbal communication skills GIS/R/Python skills Ability to enjoy the day to day challenges as well as focus on long term objectives Willingness to learn and lead Strong and proven business development skills along with a network of clients Australian Citizenship or rights to work in Australia Excellent driving history and hold a current driver''s license Experience with the offshore oil and gas and/or offshore wind sector would be advantageous.
