Located at Shop R00-004 Gateway, 1 Macquarie Place, Sydney NSW 2000, our store operates in a high-volume CBD environment, serving a diverse customer base with a focus on speed, quality, and exceptional customer experience in line with Mad Mex franchise systems, operational procedures, and brand standards. We are seeking an experienced and skilled Retail Manager to oversee daily store operations, drive sales performance, and maintain the high standards of service, product quality, and operational excellence that define the Mad Mex brand. This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for a dynamic professional with strong operational and people management skills with full responsibility for commercial performance, cost control, and store profitability. Salary Range: $70,000 $80,000 per annum Role: Full-time Location: Sydney NSW 2000 Key Responsibilities Manage and oversee the day-to-day retail operations of the store, ensuring efficient service, product consistency, and adherence to brand standards. Monitor inventory levels, control stock, and coordinate purchasing to minimise wastage and optimise cost efficiency. Ensure high standards of customer service by responding to feedback, resolving complaints promptly, and enhancing the overall customer experience. Prepare and manage budgets, monitor financial performance, analyse sales data, and implement strategies to achieve revenue and profitability targets including labour cost control, pricing decisions, and sales forecasting. Recruit, train, supervise, and roster staff, ensuring adequate staffing levels during peak trading periods. Lead, motivate, and develop team members through performance management and ongoing training initiatives. Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, workplace health and safety (WHS), and company operational policies. Maintain accurate records of sales, inventory, staff performance, and operational activities. Implement promotional and marketing initiatives in line with brand campaigns to drive store performance. Liaise with suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth business operations. Identify opportunities for operational improvements and contribute to business growth strategies. Qualifications & Skills Diploma in Business, Retail Management, Hospitality, or a related field. Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a retail or fast-paced service management role. Strong leadership and team management capabilities in a high-volume environment. Proven ability to manage budgets, control costs, and drive sales performance. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills. Sound knowledge of inventory control, rostering, and retail operations.
