Through various branches we oversee the planning, operation and stewardship of hundreds of community assets, both Councilmanaged and leased, while also delivering community development programs and partnerships. The division focuses on safe, highquality venues, strong governance, effective leasing and asset management, and continuous improvement to maximise community value and align services with Councils strategic objectives. Our Branch The Sport and Recreation branch within Community and the Arts Services supports an active, healthy and connected Brisbane by enabling community participation in sport and active lifestyles. The branch delivers inclusive sport and recreation programs, manages and supports access to sporting and recreation spaces, and works closely with clubs, organisations and partners through funding, advocacy and strategic support. Its focus is on providing safe, accessible and communityresponsive opportunities that promote wellbeing, social connection and longterm sustainability across Brisbanes diverse neighbourhoods. The Role Council is committed to delivering highquality aquatic facilities that support healthy, active and connected communities. As our Aquatic Venues Manager, you will play a critical leadership role overseeing Councils leased aquatic venues and ensuring they operate safely, efficiently and in alignment with community and organisational expectations. You will lead the relationships and outcomes of leased aquatic facilities within Councils venue portfolio, overseeing contractual outcomes, compliance, safety, and facility performance. The role builds strong operational relationships with lease holders and internal partners, helping ensure venues meet Councils statutory, maintenance, customer service and safety standards. Youll also provide expert advice on industry trends, legislation and operational planning to inform Councils decisionmaking and longterm venue strategy. This is an exceptional opportunity for a motivated facilities leader who can balance stakeholder relationships, operational expertise and strategic thinking. To be successful you will have: proven leadership aligned to Councils Leadership Blueprint, building a valuesbased, highperforming culture strong analytical, investigative and problemsolving skills to juggle competing demands and land practical solutions confident communicator and negotiator, with a track record building positive stakeholder and leaseholder relationships excellent writing skills able to produce clear reports, briefs and submissions on complex lease/asset matters solid commercial nous: understanding leasing/asset financials and monitoring key budget impacts and outcomes. Desirable: experience leading or managing a sporting facility.
